I built this blog. It is a small miracle. It took a very long time… but I built it.
It’s not perfect- so lets get that out of the way.
But I built it- which means it didn’t cost me a penny. Which means one more barrier to entry has been overcome.
I built this blog- but it took an online village to bring it to fruition. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone in every forum who helped me to solve the various riddles that threatened to stop me in my tracks, over and over again.
Thank you to @techforluddites, rickandersonaia, @godhammer and billstilwell for your incredibly generous help in the Thesis forums.
Thank you to @kristarella for being an incredible resource and for the code that built my twitter feed in the sidebar. Thank you to Smashing Magazine for my adorable twitter icon, thank you to iePlexus for helping me to navigate some of the styling in my Featured Content Gallery. Thank you to Thesishooks.com, your visual reference to thesis hooks was invaluable, and thank you to all the other bloggers whose posts inspired and taught me.
This blog, this community are, in a nutshell, the reason I love the world of new media. Yes the work is hard, the hours are long – I could go on that cruise I dream about if I had been paid by the hour for the work I put into this blog – but if you are determined and passionate, there is little in this brave new world that you can’t create- for yourself- with the smallest of budgets.
The internet world is our oyster. There are no excuses. If you can dream it, you can build it. And now… to give them a reason to come…

This is why I love WordPress and the Thesis Theme. It makes it possible for folks who are neither programmers or web developers to build their own website. The way the Thesis community helps support this is nothing short of phenomenal. Good work Kathryn.
